Devoxx 2011 Scheduler
Native iOS / Objective C iPad Application Development
Devoxx is one of the most important Java Conferences worldwide, attracting over 3000 visitors and taking place in Antwerp, Belgium.
In 2010 iDA MediaFoundry created a mobile scheduling application using Flex and AIR.
In 2011 - we tried something different...
Our goal this year was to show the Java community some possibilities and challenges concerning (native) iOS development.
The scheduler app was used as a case study during our presentation at the conference.
Belgian eID Integration
Adobe AIR NativeExtension for applications in government, healthcare & social services
The architecture of AIR 3 allowed us to build an extension that allows us to use the API of the eID middleware software supplied by the Belgian government from our Flex-based applications.
When our AIR applications attempt to read the eID using the NativeExtension, the user is asked for confirmation for this action, and potentially even for their PIN. Other applications include signing actions with the user's eID certificate private key.

The EIC has the format of a regular bankcard, with printed identity information on the surface (such as personal details and a photograph) as well as an embedded microchip.
The eID card contains a chip containing:
- the same information as legible on the card
- the address of the card holder
- the identity - and signature keys and certificates
Multiplatform / Multiscreen
Targetting specific devices or platforms with native development vs shared codebase and common runtimes
Whatever the target platform (Web, Desktop, Mobile) or os/device (eg. Windows Phone, Apple iPhone, Google Android or BlackBerry QNX) you target, the type and complexity of the application plays a big role in the choice of technology.
We offer a wide range of expertise (Flex, ObjectiveC, Android, Java, HTML5, C++, ...) and have a qualified team of consultants that feel at home in enterprise development environments.
